Yuko Komiyama

Yuko Komiyama embarked on a musical journey at the age of 5, mastering the Electone before expanding her talents to bass and drums in high school. Graduating from Soai University’s School of Music, she specialized in classical and jazz composition and arrangement, with the Electone as her primary instrument.

In 2002, Yuko Komiyama joined Capcom, where she became known as the main composer for Mega Man X7 and X8, as well as contributing to the Monster Hunter series.

After leaving Capcom, she founded comymusic in 2012, providing music for various media, and revisiting the Monster Hunter franchise, providing main themes for Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. More recently in 2024, she composed for the game Contra: Operation Galuga.

Beyond video games, Yuko Komiyama has provided original and arranged music for advertising campaigns, including Disney’s Tsumtsum, Nintendo’s Pokémon, and Square-Enix’s Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises.

Yuko has been a registered composer with the US-based Scarlet Moon™ Promotions since 2023.
